Tasting Notes
The new vintage of Roanoke’s Blend One features another unique varietal composition; 43% Cabernet Franc, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 33% Merlot. The nose, at first pour, comes alive with an almost ice-and-crushed-fresh-mint vibrancy, which then gently gives way to a fruit profile strong on red plum and Bing cherry. Over all this hovers the unmistakable dusk and dust of fresh chocolate chips. As the wine breathes, it begins to show nothing less than a full, harvest-berry-pie flavor spectrum; from bubbling sugars and toasted crust, to a red-and-black fruit hybrid of sweet and tangy aromatics. Keywords: Complexity, Balance, and Finesse.
