Roanoke Vineyards Wine Dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor
Roanoke Vineyards and The Grapes of Roth would like to invite you to an elegant wine dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, Thursday, February 9th, at 7:30 PM. This four course dinner will feature seven fabulous wines from Roanoke and The Grapes of Roth. Reservations are required, and can be made directly with the Hotel at 631.725.3535. $70 per person (plus gratuity and tax). The American Hotel is located on the east side of Main Street in Sag Harbor, and is just steps from the Hampton Jitney's regular stop. Ample parking is available on Main Street, and in the adjacent lot. Overnight accommodations can be arranged by the Hotel, allowing you to enjoy Sag Harbor by day and night.
The Winemakers Roundtables return on February 11th with George Taber!
Through the wonders of technology, our friend George Taber will join us for a tasting and discussion about his new book A Toast to Bargain Wines: How Innovators, Iconoclasts, and Winemaking Revolutionaries Are Changing the Way America Drinks. We'll taste wines from the book, and also a selection of Roanoke wines, including the 2007 Sound Avenue Merlot (which will be released that day!). This event will take place in our Tasting House, adjacent to the Tasting Room at the vineyard. Reservations are required, and can be made by calling 631.727.4161. Each person attending will receive a signed copy of George's book. $35. per person, $30. for Wine Club members.
The Long Awaited Release of the 2007 Sound Avenue Merlot February 11th!
We've been very excited about our 2007 Merlot, and on February 11th you'll be able to take some home. The '07 wines benefitted from a hot and dry summer, which made for very concentrated and rich wines. This Merlot has made brief appearances in the past, always to rave reviews including Tom Matthews from the Wine Spectator, who called the '07 "A delicious Merlot."
In addition to the '07 Merlot, we're also officially releasing our 2009 Marco Tulio! This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and has been showing beautifully since its bottling. Loaded with beautiful cherry and currant flavors, the '09 MT arrives with a solid structure, and is ready to drink now.
We'll be tasting these great wines all day on the 11th and 12th, so stop in for a romantic moment at Roanoke Vineyards!
Say CHEESE!
Sunday February 19th is our annual Cheese and Wine Celebration, and we'll be featuring a selection of artisanal cheese platters that have been specially paired with our wine portfolio. Early birds can get a chair by the fire in the Wine Library, then select a current release (or a library wine) to enjoy with our exotic fromage offerings. No reservations required. The Tasting Room and Wine Library will be open 11 AM to 6 PM.

This is a great event held annually at the Brookln Academy of Music (BAM), and a fantastic opportunity to eat and drink your way around Long Island. We plan to pour some unreleased wines that you'll fall in love with, and we're certainly hoping they'll put our table next to the Lobster Pound! (omg!). Do not miss this!

Mother's Day at Roanoke Vineyards!

GABBY'S WEEKEND and the release of the 2009 Gabby's Cabernet Franc!
Blink and you'll miss it. Gabby's wine sells out in just a matter of hours, and we'll be celebrating on both Saturday September 22, and Sunday the 23rd. Gabby will be signing bottles and kissing babies (of all ages), there will be plenty of food, festivities, and fun. Be sure your name is on the Gabby's Reserve List to ensure you'll have all the '09 Gabbys you need. Watch this spot for times and event news.
