The People

Richard Pisacano
Richard Pisacano is a native Long Islander—from Huntington, N.Y., in western Suffolk County, at the Nassau County border. Like Roman Roth, winemaker for Roanoke Vineyards (as well as Wolffer Estates and Grapes of Roth), Pisacano recognized early on that the world of wine was where he wanted to be.

Soraya Pisacano
Soraya was born in the city of Cali, in Colombia. She came to the United States in 1998, first settling in Hampton Bays, on Long Island. She met Richard Pisacano in the fall of 1999, at Wolffer Estates, where Richard was Vineyard Managing. For Soraya, what started out as a day in the vineyard assisting with the harvest quickly turned into a profound change in her life’s direction. She and Richard were married in 2002, two years after the vines were planted on the current Sound Avenue property.

Roman Roth
Roanoke Vineyards' winemaker is Roman Roth, a North Fork star if ever there was one. The creative force behind the Grapes of Roth as well as Wolffer Estates, his training and experience are a blend of several wine cultures spanning three continents.
